This Porsche 912 was first delivered to the U.S.A. in 1969. In 2008 it was imported to Europe. Its present owner bought it 5 years ago when it was in strong need of restoration. The owner took on the challenge and gave it a thorough complete overhaul. In the U.S.A. the original color had been changed to black. In the course of the elaborate restoration it was painted in its original color irish green again. The complete technology, as well as engine and carburetor, was also overhauled. The same happened to the interior, the seats were newly upholstered. All joints and gaskets were checked up and the chrome parts were rebuilt. It has new 'Vredestein Sprint Classic' tires. The car has Austrian documents, accordingly, it can be registered as a historic vehicle in Germany.
Porsche 912
Porsche built the model 912 from 1965 to 1976, in 1975 it exclusively introduced a new version, the Porsche 912 E on the American market. Initially the 912 was a little simpler than its big brother, the 911. The 912 merely featured 3 round instruments. Drivers of the 912 had to do without a clock and the instrument cluster. In 1966/67 this shortcoming was corrected and the 912 was equipped with the same instruments as the 911. The 912 was produced as coupe and targa for the European market until the summer of 1969.
