DESCRIPTION: TLS, one page, on Allan Pinkerton letterhead, dated July 12, 1917, signed in fountain pen. A letter to Hon. William G. McAdoo, Secretary of the Treasury, regarding information possibly concerning a conspiracy on the life of the President. The date of the letter suggests this is the grandson of Allan Pinkerton, founder of the Pinkerton Agency, who was also named Allan Pinkerton and who took over the agency around World War I after his father Robert and his Uncle William passed away. MEASUREMENTS: 5-1/2" x 8-1/2". CONDITION: Fold marks, blue pencil circle to letterhead caption, minor creases.
