Description
This is a Lakota Sioux Native American Indian Quillwork Otter skin pipe bag. The piece shows a otter fur hide with three porcupine quill worked geometric medallions across the belly and porcupine quillwork with tin jingle cones with ocher dyed Buffalo hair down the tail. The quillwork is in mineral dyes of red, orange, white, browns, blacks, and yellows. This is a rarely seen piece in very good condition. Otter hide in very good condition. Circa 1880-1910. Measures 46" long and 8" wide.
