Red Rocha 1956 Syracuse Nationals Warm-Up Jacket
A 6'9" center from Oregon State University, Red Rocha earned All-Pacific Coast Conference honors in 1945, 1946, and 1947. He was also selected as a 1947 All-American. He played in the BAA and NBA in the late 1940s and early 1950s. He represented the Baltimore Bullets in the first NBA All-Star Game in 1951, and won a championship ring with the Syracuse Nationals in 1955. He scored 6,362 points in his playing career. Rocha later served as a coach for the Detroit Pistons. Following his NBA career, he became head coach for the University of Hawaii men's basketball team. This is a rare 1956 Syracuse Nationals warm up jacket worn by Rocha. On the inside right tail is the "Rawlings" label with the size "42" and next to this is the "Cervi-Charles Sports Shop" label. On the right front tail of this seldom seen garment is Rocha's player number "16" and on the back is the name "Syracuse". Both the numbers and name are made of red tackle twill on a gold/blue backing. On the upper left front is the Syracuse Nationals patch and on the left sleeve is the "N.B.A. World Champions 1954-55" patch. Excellent original condition. LOAs from MEARS (A8.5) and Grey Flannel.
