Kobe Bryant 1996 Los Angeles Lakers Rookie Home Jersey
Perhaps the most legitimate contender to Michael Jordan as the most electrifying player the game has known, Kobe Bryant ushered in a new era of "Showtime" basketball in Los Angeles. The only son of former Philadelphia 76ers player Joe "Jellybean" Bryant, Kobe rose to national prominence when he became the first guard in league history to be drafted out of high school. More than living up to monumental expectations, he would go on to help the Lakers win three consecutive NBA championships, from 2000 to 2002. Dating from his rookie season, this 1995-96 Los Angles Lakers home mesh jersey was worn by Kobe Bryant. This jersey was manufactured during the 1995-96 season and worn during Kobe's 1996-97 rookie campaign. On the left front tail of the jersey is the "Los Angeles Lakers" exclusive label with the year "95 96" and "Body Length +3." Next to this is the "Champion" label with the size "44." Across the front of the jersey is the team name "Lakers" and on back is the player name "Bryant." The player number "8" appears on both the front and back of the jersey. The letters and numbers are made of purple on white tackle twill, and on the upper left front is the gold "NBA" patch. This patch was sewn over the NBA patch from the previous season. The jersey shows light game wear. LOAs from MEARS (A5) and Grey Flannel. ImagesClick on thumbnails to see larger images:
