1908 Handwritten Letter From Six Time British Open Champion Harry Vardon
During his legendary career, English golf champion Harry Vardon won 62 tournaments, including a record six British Opens and one US Open. Traveling to the United States in 1900, Vardon helped to ignite this country's enthusiasm for golf. He also popularized the interlocking grip that bears his name, one still used by more than 90 percent of golfers. In his later years, Vardon became a golf course architect, designing several courses in Britain. In 1974 Vardon was chosen as one of the initial group of inductees into the World Golf Hall of Fame. This rare one page hand written and signed letter is on Harry Vardon's personal letterhead, dated November 9, 1908. Vardon writes to thank the recipient for a check and refers to his own play on a particular golf course. The entire letter and signature is written in deep black ink and rates 10/10.
