Casey Stengel's 1957 New York Yankees AL Championship Gold Cufflinks
Under Stengel, the 1957 Yankees were in the World Series for the eighth time in nine years. Behind an MVP year from Mickey Mantle, New York finished 98-56, eight games ahead of the second-place White Sox. In the World Series they faced a Milwaukee Braves team that was making its first Series appearance in nine years, and featured an MVP of its own in Henry Aaron. The Braves prevailed in a seven game contest, bringing Milwaukee its first and only championship. In recognition of the Yankees 1957 American League Championship, Casey Stengel received this pair of (3/4") round gold cufflinks. Each is engraved "Casey Stengel" on the back. The front is embossed "American League" around top edge and "1957 Champions" around the bottom. The Yankees top hat logo is located in the center and is flanked on both sides by a small ruby, sapphire and diamond. The cufflinks are in excellent condition and come with a picture of Casey wearing them. LOA from the Stengel family. ImagesClick on thumbnails to see larger images:
