K.C. Jones mid 1950's College All-Star Uniform
Jones played college basketball at the University of San Francisco and, along with Bill Russell, led the Dons to two NCAA championships in 1955 and 1956. During his playing days, he was known as a tenacious defender. Jones spent all of his nine seasons in the NBA with the Boston Celtics, being part of eight championship teams from 1959 to 1966. In NBA history, only teammates Bill Russell and Sam Jones have won more championship rings during their playing careers. This mid 1950's college all-star uniform was worn by K.C. Jones. Across the front of the jersey is the team name "West." The player number "21" appears on both the front and back of the jersey. The letters and numbers are made of black tackle twill. Inside the accompanying shorts is the "Thorpe Sporting Goods" label. Jones has autographed the front of the jersey and the left front leg of the shorts. When his playing days ended, Jones continued his winning ways as a coach with six teams, employing a low-key, laissez-faire approach that won seven division titles, five Eastern Conference titles and two championships. In recognition of a career that produced more championship rings than Jones had fingers, he was elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1989. LOAs from MEARS (A8) and Grey Flannel.
