Tom Heinsohn circa Late 1960's Boston Celtics Road Uniform
In 1956, Tom's first season with the Boston Celtics, Heinsohn played in an NBA All-Star Game, was named the NBA Rookie of the Year, and won his first championship ring. He was part of a Celtics squad that won eight NBA titles in nine years, including seven in a row between 1959 and 1965. In NBA history, only teammates Bill Russell and Sam Jones won more championship rings during their playing careers. Heinsohn was named a six time All-Star, and on the day his teammate and fellow Holy Cross Crusader Bob Cousy retired, Heinsohn scored his 10,000th career point. His number 15 was retired by the Celtics in 1966. On the inside bottom tail of this late 1950's jersey is the "Horace Partridge" label with the size "42." Across the front of the jersey is the name "Boston" and below is the player number "15." This number appears on the back of the shirt as well. All the letters and numbers are made of white tackle twill. Heinsohn's road trunks accompany the jersey. In the waistband is the "Wilson" label with the size tag "44" adjacent. Below is a white felt patch with the player number "12" done in black chain stitching. Both garments show consistent game-use including a team repair on the jersey. LOAs from MEARS (A8.5) and Grey Flannel.
