Description
A group of bridal wear, 1930s-50s, including an elaborate wax orange blossom tiara and photos of the wedding in 1938; a silver and ivory brocaded gown with matching train; two other 1930s gowns, another lame and satin train; a 1950s gown, assorted veils (qty) Provenance: the late Harry Matthews
Condition
• White velvet dress – rust spots around pres-stud
• Silver grey satin – marks all down the back of the skirt
• Ivory/silver with train – perspiration stains at underarms, rear closure loops are worn. Matching train is good
• Rayon ribbon dress – slightly soiled at hem, generally good condition
• Wax tiara with photos – good condition
• 2 x 1920s silk tulle veils – good condition
• Silver lame and satin tulle train – bad tarnishing in 3 large patches
• Pearl bead plastron – lacking a few edging beads, generally ok
• Silk shawl with blue embroidery – soiled
• Faux fur capelet – good condition
• Simple wax circlet - damaged
