Description
An Egyptian limestone relief depicting an offering scene, Late Period, c. 664 - 343 BC, featuring two registers of neatly carved hieroglyphic text including both horizontal and vertical registers. Beneath is an offering scene depicting a male figure wearing a pointed kilt standing before an altar, a priest or pharaoh standing on the opposite side. 15 in x 15 ¼ in (38 x 38.6 cm). Height with stand: 17 ¼ in (43.7 cm). Scattered surface deposits throughout. Mounted on a custom metal stand. Ex estate of Mr. Thomas V.(1922-2002) and Mrs. Marie B. Patton, Atlanta Georgia USA. Mr. Patton was an oil and real estate executive who traveled extensively to Europe in the 1980's to build a collection of art and furnishings.
