Description
A Roman bronze figure of child Herakles seated and holding a snake, c. 1st Century AD, in beautiful style, the youthful hero is on his knees, left hand on his club, right hand grasping the serpent who’s head faces him, the body wriggling within the child’s grasp. H: 1 4/5 in (4.6cm). Ex English private collection formed between the 1960's – 1970's; Sotheby's London, 8 July 1993, Lot 188.
