Description
A Romano-British bronze openwork brooch - ex Hattatt Collection, c. 2nd Century AD. The zoomorphic lozenge brooch with alternating blue and yellow enamel. Found in St. Albans, England and a probable import from the Rhineland or Pannonia (present day Hungary), W: 1 ¾ in (4.4cm). Mounted on Hattatt’s characteristic custom base with his references and notations. Ex Richard Hattatt Collection. Published: Hattatt, Brooches (1985).
