A decorated Byzantine ceramic lamp, c. 7th - 8th Century AD, circular in shape, the shoulders adorned with birds and palm fronds in relief, one bird pecking at a circle with central pellet. The rim around the fill-hole adorned with raised geometric decoration, small tab handle at back, ring base on bottom. Dia: 2 ¾ in (7 cm). Light deposits throughout. Ex Wash DC private collection.
