Ovanes Berberian (California, 1951- ) 12" x 16" oil on board, titled "The Approaching Storm". Signed lower left "Ovanes Berberian". Ovanes Berberian was born in Russia and received much of his art education from his father who was an important Russian artist and a member of the Armenian Artists Society. In 1977, he immigrated to the United States, settling in California. In 1981, he was awarded a scholarship and studied with Sergei Bongart. Ovanes is one of the shining stars in American art. His paintings can be found in numerous collections including The Forsythe Group, Jack Nicklaus, Doris Mendenhall and Palm Springs designer, Steve Chase. Listed in Davenports, etc. Area of in painting in the sky, and two small spots in trees, otherwise fine condition. EST. $600. - $1200.
