Thomas Corwin Lindsay (Cincinnati, Ohio, 1845-1907) 24" x 16" oil on canvas, titled "Brutus" in original frame with original name plaque. Unsigned. Thomas Corwin Lindsay, born in Cincinnati, Ohio, was a well known painter of landscapes, animal subjects, and occasional portraits. He was a founding member of the Cincinnati Art Club. He exhibited at the Cincinnati Industrial Exposition from 1870-83, Pogue's in 1875, and the Art Institute of Chicago, Illinois in 1896. His works are in the collection of the Cincinnati Art Museum. Listed in Samuels, Who's Who, Davenports, etc. Two very small pin size holes near bottom stretcher; otherwise very good condition. EST. $500. - $1000.
