Russian American Artist Nicholas V Haritonoff Profile of a Woman Oil on Canvas Painting
Born in Russia, emigrated to America in 1920 (1880-1944) Haritonoff studied at the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg and became One (1) of Russia's most renowned artists. He painted a portrait of the Czar and also One (1) of the Czar's wife and child which hung in the Czar's palace in St. Petersburg. In 1920 he immigrated to the US and became an American citizen. He worked with Nicholai Fechin, another Imperial Academy alumni, in NY. In 1926 he debuted at the National Academy of Design. His works still hang in the Russian Art Museum and the Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg as well as the Lauren Rogers Museum in Mississippi.
