19th century, carved with shoulder length hair, his robe gathered above the knees, covered in traces of gesso and faint enamel. 28 1/2"L Condition: lacking left arm, lacking all of one foot and part of the other, crack on right side of head, pointed sleeve with wear on edge, wear to hem of robe, very faint traces of gesso and enamels,loss to nose and upper lip, no wings Provenance: The Mr. & Mrs. Lester Andelson Collection Exhibition: The Allen Memorial Art Museum, Oberlin College, February 9, 1981.
