Large Hispano-Philippine Male Santos
19th century, Gubat, carved with a tonsure and wavy beard, both arms outstretched, wearing a robe and cloak, covered in traces of gesso, the interior of his cloak enameled in faded turquoise blue. 33"H.
Condition: lacking both hands, cracks to both arms, crack to reverse of head, crack to body and cloak, bukbuk damage to verso. Provenance: The Mr. & Mrs. Lester Andelson Collection Exhibition: The Allen Memorial Art Museum, Oberlin College, February 9, 1981.
