Desert", 3-5/8 x 5-1/8 in.; two sketchbooks, Colorado and St. Louis, Missouri related: (10) 32 pages containing one diary page outlining incidents that occurred including someone firing a gun at another in a restaurant, 38 pencil sketches of ranches, forts, portraits, landscapes including Pike's Peak, inscribed in front "J.M. Pattison 614 Pine St. St. Louis", dated 1869, 5 x 8-1/2 in., [covers gone, some pages loose, foxing, some tears to edges]; (11) 80 pages (includes tissue), 27 sketches of landscapes, botanical studies, inscribed inside front "J.M.
