English Creamware Serving Pieces
Comprising; a Wedgwood lobed creamware covered serving dish painted with a hand and crown armorial and gilt monogram, the foliate form finial and rim picked out in iron red, the base impressed Wedgwood, together with a similar Spode creamware serving piece painted in brown with an armorial shield inscribed "Equam Servare Mentem" on the lid, the interior similarly decorated, the lid impressed SPODE. Wedgwood 5 1/2"H, 10"W, 10"D. Spode 5"H, 8 1/2"W 8 1/2"D. Wedgwood Condition: wear to finial, interior with crazing and staining, base with crazing and staining, very light scratches to painted iron red surface. Spode Condition: very light wear and scratches to painted surface, otherwise no damage or repair. Provenance: Private Cleveland Collection, purchased from Spruce Antiques, Lake Forest, Illinois.
