A SECOND HALF 19TH CENTURY LOUIS XV STYLE GILT-BRONZE MOUNTED TORTOISHELL BRACKET CLOCK by Maple & Co., Ltd, Paris, the serpentine rectangular crest with carved molded trim surmounted by a scrolling floral cast cluster on a conforming neck and shaped case centering a circular dial with block Arabic minute chapters above blue roman chapters encircling cut blued steel hands, with convex glass door surmounted by blossoming branch pendants flanked by scrolling acanthus cast mounts continuing to similarly cast supports, on a matching tapering rectangular bracket shelf, the eight day brass movement with suspension pendulum including coiled gong strike bell. Stamped Maple & Co., Ltd Paris and Medaille d'Argent Vincinti & Cie, 1855. Height: 37".
