Carved polychrome wood santo, pre-1793, height: 10.5 in.
Origin and date identified by a professional historical archaeologist in Texas.
This piece came with the following notes: "This Colonial Spanish Catholic Santo was a gift to the collector from the archaeologist who did the archaeological digs and research on several San Antonio missions, including the Alamo. The collector was told it was pre-1793 when the mission was secularized. The collector said it is of wood with polychrome decoration, and is a rare piece."
