A French white painted cast iron model of Bacchus , late 19th century, after a design of Mathurin Moreau (1822-1922), portrayed as standing and draped, a bunch of grapes in his left hand, atop an associated cast iron cylindrical pedestal, also late 19th century, 216cm high overall, the base 84cm high, 60cm diameter The original model 'Autumn' was created by Moreau in 1866 and afterwards was cast by the Val d'Osne foundry in 1880. A comparable cast iron model of St Vernier, after Moreau's 'Autumn' was cast for a fountain in Ornans, France
