A pair of French electrotype copper coated cast iron models of lions , third quarter 19th century, A. Durenne Foundry, portrayed opposing and seated on their haunches, 67cm high, 30cm wide Antoine Durenne (1822 - 1895) was a French cast iron and bronze founder, first establishing a foundry at Sommevoire, near the Val d'Osne works, Haute-Marne, France. Active especially in Paris, between 1847 and 1930 and noted especially for ornamental ironwork and over-life size animal sculpture groups, examples of the foundry's output can be found in several UK historic parks and gardens
