This painting was created by the Viennese painter Heinrich Krause. While in his early figurative compositions the affinity with his teacher Albin Egger-Lienz is still recognizable, the paintings in his later work are defined by a materialized form of light, as it is also expressed in the painting presented here.
The painting is signed in red ‘Krause’. In the upper sky area a small retouched spot, at the lower edge a minor loss of color due to former framing, otherwise in very good condition. The painting is offered unframed. The dimensions of the stretcher are 52 x 75 cm.
