This is a vintage circa 1920s Art Deco color plate print from the scarce and highly-sought-after German portfolio series titled "Dekorative Vorbilder." Artist: Alfred Hagel, Munchen (Munich). Printed on heavy paper with quality ink colors. There is nothing on the reverse. This portfolio represented a vast array of styles including Art Deco, art nouveau and Asian influence, machine age, German modernism, Bauhaus, and the Wiener-Werkstatte style. These graphics were designed by artisans for various art work like wallpaper, murals, stenciling, pottery decoration, painted furniture etc. They were used as samples/instructional drawings for artists, painters, graphic designers, and architects. Artists include Carl Fuchs, Josef Hoffmann, Ernst Aufseeser, Remigius Geyling, Franz Jager, Ernst Lichtblau, Alfred Hagel, Paul Laszlo, Maria Rott, Willy Pogany, Maria Hoffmann, and Emanuel Josef Margold.
