Immaculate Conception Figure
Bohol, 19th century, carved from hard wood with long flowing locks, her hands gathered together on her chest, raised over a stylized base with a centered cherub's head, covered in traces of yellow, crimson, slate blue, and white. 10"H.
Condition: lacking hands, lacking crescents from base, chip to edge of robe, hairline cracks on verso, wear to painted surface, flaking enamel. Provenance: The Mr. & Mrs. Lester Andelson Collection Exhibition: The Allen Memorial Art Museum, Oberlin College, February 9, 1981.
