Hispano-Phillipine Male Santos

Hispano-Phillipine Male Santos
19th century, Negros Province, carved with shoulder length hair, flowing robes, and bare feet, raised over an octagonal base, covered in traces of gesso, blue, crimson, pink,and white enamels. 16 1/2"H.
Condition: lacking hands, crack to front of body, one arm loose, large loss and crack to base, small hairline to back of figure, loss to painted surface. Provenance: The Mr. & Mrs. Lester Andelson Collection Exhibition: The Allen Memorial Art Museum, Oberlin College, February 9, 1981.
