19th century, Juban Province, carved with one arm pressed into his chest, the other raised, covered in traces of gesso and polychrome enamels including blue, yellow, and crimson, raised over a square base. 6"H.
Condition: lacking hand, base lacking one section, yellow probably not original. Provenance: The Mr. & Mrs. Lester Andelson Collection Exhibition: The Allen Memorial Art Museum, Oberlin College, February 9, 1981. Literature: Philippine Religious Imagery, Fernando Zobel de Ayala, 1963
