Hispano-Philippine Mary and Joseph La Union Province, Early 20th century, carved with flat backs, their clothing painted in a stylized floral motif, the verso affixed with hanging mechanism. 11 1/2"L. Condition: Joseph with losses to head and nose, lacking one arm, chip to one foot, lacking hook; Mary with losses to hands and tip of one foot; both figures with very light wear to painted surface. Provenance: The Mr. & Mrs. Lester Andelson Collection Exhibition: The Allen Memorial Art Museum, Oberlin College, February 9, 1981.
