Description
This belt has 9 hand stamped round silver flower design conchos with turquoise cabochons and a great silver punched buckle. Each silver concho is 1 1/2 inches in diameter, the buckle is 2 inches long, total belt length is 41 inches. The belt is not signed which is not unusual for this early period. From the estate of John Koehler. Collected in 1950's - 1960's when he purchased a trading post. Mr. Koehler had a huge estate of Navajo, Anasazi, Pueblo and other Native American collectibles including hundreds of Concho belts and squash blossom silver necklaces that came from the trading post. The silver conchos and buckles were put on newer harness leather at a later date. It is unknown what the name of the post was but the majority of the jewelry, belts and blossom necklaces were obviously made by the same Navajo silver smith or same family.
