the wooden figure carved in the image of the Madonna, shrouded by a cloak painted with a delicate floral pattern, and wear a painted red robe with a faint stylized floral pattern, raised on an oval affixed base, hardwood, Sorsogon Province. 11" h.
Condition: Loss to hands, expected wear to paint loss to base and back due to Bukbuk. Provenance: The Mr. & Mrs. Lester Andelson Collection Exhibition: The Allen Memorial Art Museum, Oberlin College, February 9, 1981 Literature: Phillipine Religious Imagery, Fernando Zobel de Ayala, 1963
