the one side chair with rare turned pillow top crest rail over a horizontal back splat with vivid gold stenciling and rush seat, raised on turned legs joined by box shaped stretchers (minor loss to veneer on side of seat rail), the second chair with a vividly gilt stenciled crest rail over a comb back and naturally finished seat, raised on turned legs, each chair is stenciled "L. HITCHCOCK HITCHCOCKS-VILLE CONN. WARRANTED" in gold over a black body. First Chair 33 1/4" h, 17 4/8" w, 15 1/2" d.
Condition: Good, minor scuffing near feet and back of crest rail.
