
US CONSTITUTION COPPER SPIKES REVERE
Description
Spikes from the USS Constitution made by Paul Revere. In the spring of 1873 the Constitution was taken down to her live oak skeleton and striped of everything. Some of the rotten planks were exposed and the Paul Revere copper spikes removed and presented to the Naval Constructor Philip Hitchborn. They were given to Lt. Able Lord in 1926.
