CAPT MOSES WELLS ANTIQUE LAP DESK

Fine American lap desk, circa 1830. Hinged lid opening to a deep well, writing surface lined with green felt, pen and pencil compartment, 2 ink bottles and a hidden compartment with 3 small draws. On the outside is one large drawer. The desk belonged to Capt. Moses Wells of New Bedford on the ship Logan in 1854 whaling in the North Pacific.
Condition : Damage to lock mechanism, damage to one lower corner
