Description
Fine American lap desk, circa 1830. Hinged lid opening to a deep well, writing surface lined with green felt, pen and pencil compartment, 2 ink bottles and a hidden compartment with 3 small draws. On the outside is one large drawer. The desk belonged to Capt. Moses Wells of New Bedford on the ship Logan in 1854 whaling in the North Pacific.
