This 1863 dated Carte-de-visite, measuring 4" x 2.5," has a head and shoulders shot of "Black Jack" John Logan, in uniform. This card was published by Barr & Young in Vicksburg, Mississippi. This is a fine portrait of the man who would later be James G. Blaine's Vice-Presidential running mate in 1884. He was also an Illinois Senator, and the one who conceived the idea for Memorial Day, and inaugurated it on May 30, 1868. This CDV has a sharp image, is clean and undamaged.
