Carinus. 283 - 285 AD. Antoninianus of 284 - 285 AD. 3.18g. IMP. CARINVS P.F. AVG., his radiate and cuirassed bust rt. / IOVI STATORI, Jupiter standing lt., holding Victory and a sceptre, eagle at his feet, KAB in ex. RIC 258. VF. Originally a reverse type of Numerian, taken over by Carinus after Numerian's death. See A. Brown, Coinage of Carus etc, pp.9-10.
