CARVED IVORY ALABASTER EGYPTIAN BOAT

Alabaster and ivory ship model based on an actual boat that was unearthed in 1893. The coloring of the original boat has been carefully reproduced in this model. The base is of ivory inlaid with 2,356 (two thousand and fifty six) carved and painted pieces. In general, the hull of the boat is of crescent form with the greatest width slightly forward of the midship section. The prow and stern represent the head of a Syrian Ibex. This beautiful model comes complete with glass case.
