Rome, c. 2nd- 3rd Century AD. A nice lot of 6 bone one point hairpins, 5 of the shorter variety with globular terminal and a large hairpin with a terminal carved in the form of a human hand clenching a globe with the thumb and two fore fingers. Each is intact with good coloration. L: 3 1/4" to 9".
