Exquisite Roman bronze jug, c. 2nd-3rd century AD. This single handled jug or Olpe is incised with circular borders at the neck. The handle is cast with an urn, Medusa and female heads in relief; the crescent shaped attachment terminates upwards. Glossy brown with superb deep emerald green patina throughout. A few small areas of restoration but expertly restored. Height is 8".
