Rome, c. 1st century AD. A marble head of a satyr. Stoic facial expression with well defined eyes and wavy hair. Goat horns atop head are evident with some losses to each. Face weathered with loses to ears, chin, beard and upper cheeks. Right eyebrow and nose missing. A most desirable piece as satyr are always highly sought after by collectors! Nicely mounted on custom stand. Ht: 9.5".
