Sign In to see what this sold for

Rome, c. 2nd-5th century AD. A stone pykis or architectural model of a multi column structure resembling a temple. Almost square in shape, the model displaying the same four, three dimensional "Ionic" columns on each side of the structure with similar yet different designs atop the walls above the columns. All four sides of the base are void of any design. Inside of vessel is cut out to reveal an almost bowl-like vessel. Nicely stained patina adding charm to the piece! Size is 7" x 8" x 4.5 high. Rare and unusual.
