Roger Dean – Clouds
A painted Fender® Stratocaster® with distinctive design by Roger Dean. Roger has often thought about applying his creativity to an electric guitar, this is the first time that he has actually realised the ambition.
British artist Roger Dean is best known for his dreamy other-worldly work on album covers, which he began painting in the late 1960s. After graduating from the Royal College of Art in London he started out in the field of design - preferring to distinguish between design, or the reworking of existing models, and invention, or the making of something new. Known primarily for the fantastic landscape scenes he has created for Yes, Budgie, Uriah Heep, Gentle Giant and other bands, Dean has also worked on video game art and film projects. Two compilations of his work have been published and his architectural and furniture work have been exhibited in the Victoria and Albert Museum and in the Royal Academy among other galleries and museums. In recent years, Roger Dean has focused a great deal on his architectural ideas. He has designed both homes and a sustainable village. As a designer, Dean has developed all aspects of his homes, from construction techniques to emotional comfort and security. The design of these homes is based on his Home For Life concept, a house that is artistically beautiful and environmentally kind, but cheap and quick to build.
