Measurement: L 3-1/4 in., W 3-1/4 in., H 6-3/4 in. This is believed to be the world's first stone seal with characters. In the last century, Hongshan culture has attracted scholars all over the world to do research and on-site archeological excavation. Because of this, it aroused a lot of interests from the public. It is speculated that the private collection of Hongshan culture artifacts and carved jades from the public is quite large. This particular piece of Hongshan carving was carved more than 6000 years ago. Hongshan culture is believed to be the origin of Chinese civilization. However, more research is needed to reveal the meaning of these characters on the seal. The successful bidder of this Hongshan artifact will be accompanied with an Appraisal Report signed by Mr. Ho Kwong Sing who is the chief researcher of Chinese Artifacts & Treasure Research Center (Hong Kong). He has done a lot of research on ancient Chinese civilization as well as Hongshan culture studies
