CARPENTIER, Francois Augustin, (French, 1758-1808): Portrait of a Young Child, Oil/Canvas, 20" x 20", signed, illegibly dated, bears Sotheby Park Benet tags verso from 6/14/73 sale #3535, older label verso "Carpentier study of daughter", encased in a pierce carved and gilded frame, 27" x 27". Some cracklure, scattered in-paint, relined. Reportedly restored by Sotheby's restorer back in 73.
