This series titled "Six Sets" are relief and iris print collages with hand coloring by the artist. The TV screens contain iris prints reproducing vintage postcard landscapes into which Jane Hammond has incorporated images she selected from her extensive iconography. Silver foil and wood veneer were collaged onto matte board and then relief printed to add the heavy outline of the TV set. The matte board collage was trimmed to the shape of the TV creating an actual shadow when mounted to the carrier sheet. The titles are as follows (Stating at top left to right): Patience Faith Kinship Perception Insight Fairness Jane Hammond's work is composed of myriad layers of media, ideas and associations. The process of piecing together an image is a kind of meditative exercise for Jane Hammond, having "more to do with duration than texture. I see it as a function of time, like the idea of chanting." Jane Hammond received her MFA from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and Jane Hammond now lives and works in New York City.
