  • ARTIST'S BIO -
    Vik Muniz began his career as a sculptor, but became increasingly interested in the photographic documentation of his sculptures and began to direct his work more towards that medium. He creates images out of sugar, chocolate syrup, dust, cottonballs, string, skywriting, and other unusual materials. Muniz records these ephemeral images photographically, thus completing the transformation from banal substance to astonishing work of art.
