  • ARTIST'S BIO -
    Edward M. Plunkett was born in 1922 inHighland Park, Michigan. Before coming toNew York in 1949 for graduate studies atThe Institute of Fine Arts and then at theSorbonne in Paris, Plunkett attended theUniversity of Chicago and the School of theChicago Art Institute.In 1952, Plunkett began as a lecturer inArt History at The City College of New Yorkand later taught at The Chicago Art Insti-tute. In 1970, he gave a course on TheHistory of Motion Pictures at the Philadel-phia College of Art. His paintings havebeen exhibited at The Whitney Museum inNew York, in museums in Holland,Switzerland and The Museum of ModernArt in Paris. His work is found in numerouscollections, including The MetropolitanMuseum of Art in New York.
