A pair of superior quality marble urns originally placed in an East coast mansion around the turn of the 20th.Century. The heavily variegated marble is unusual in color and texture. The urns are made is two pieces with the 21" diameter body lifting off the 15" square plinth. Note the masques carved around the melon form base and the reeding and acanthus leaf detail on the solid carved lid. These urns stand 48" high and originally held gas lights. The original bronze fitters with old patination are still attached. There are several cracks and fissures in the marble but each urn is 100% stable. These urns weight approx. 300 pounds each.
